I have been extremely lucky while pregnant and my facial skin hasn't suffered at all. I have been able to use the same stuff I used prior to being pregnant, but I will show you anyway since they are my diehards and they are perfect for those with sensitive skin which I am. I use two different facial cleansers (I love both equally, but I will say the Burt'sBees Cleansing Oil does a better job of removing all my makeup, but both cleaners are extremely light and cleansing. I am assuming you all know how to wash your face and using these products is no different, so I won't bore you with how to wash your face #youdoknowhowright. Is it just me or does everyone else feel that no matter how washed your face is, the toner/micellar water always seems to take off more. I get this Garnier version in the sensitive skin version since I rub viciously at my eyes with a cotton pad...I literally have the patience of a gnat when it comes to this regime, but I still do it #adultingproblems.
Once my wash is washed and dried, I apply about a pea and a half-sized amount of the the No. 7 Boots Serum and also apply it to my neck. I love this serum so much I would slather it over my entire body if instructed too #howsthatforavisual. I apply the Neutrogena moisturizer next and let it sink in before applying the Olay eye cream. I found that the eye cream leaves the under eye portion feeling and looking smooth and has reduced lines and wrinkles. Plus, a little goes a long way. The Garnier Clearly Brighter Overnight Peel I only use about twice a week, but it has greatly improved the quality and brightness of my skin and since the Clinique Overnight Mask is also an overnight, I will rotate it with the Clearly Brighter. I actually learned about this from the blog Mix and Match Family and it is worth the hype and the cost (especially when there is a gift with purchase involved).
(L-R) No7 Protect&Perfect Serum/Garnier Clearly Brighter Overnight Peel/Olay Ultimate Eye Cream/Neutrogena Hydroboost Water Gel/Clinique Overnight Mask
This bottle of Olay I use only if I need extra moisturizer during the day or if I know I will be outside a lot. I keep a bottle of it in my purse just for these occassions. If you are big on sunscreen, one of the biggest things you will take note in regards to the other products is that they do not contain sunscreen, which is why having this on end becomes necessary and living in Florida makes sunscreen is vital to any regime. Plus, it is incredibly inexpensive so it is worth having several around.
Now, even though my facial regime has not had to change, the same has not been for everything else. I began to experience rash like symptoms early on and an itchy scalp...a really itchy scalp #almostshavedmyheaditchy. I honestly tried everything and the only thing that came close to relieving my scalp was the Shea Moisture Coconut & Hibiscus Curl and Shine Condtioner. This provided some relief and although it made my hair look amazing, it just wasn't enough to relieve the irritation.
One day on Instagram, I came upon the Budget Babe (include link to website) where she showed Avalon Organics Tree Mint Scalp Normalizing Shampoo (the one I bought at Lucky's Market has a different bottle), but the results spoke for themselves, my hair albeit smelled very ummm herbal, but gone was the itchy and scratchy sensation that plagued my days and I am sure the people around me that either thought I had lice or a bad case of dandruff are relieved for me too.
I have always used the Dove Sensitive Care body wash, so I kept with it, but because of the rash like symtpoms, I did have to modify my lotions. Now three might seem a little excessive too some, but one, I really like lotion and two, I tend to use a thicker lotion at bedtime and a lighter one during the day since I am already slathered in bodywash as it is #yesimweird. Even though the Palmer's Cocoa Butter one comes highly recommended and has done great things at keeping stretch marks at bay, I have found that there is something in the cocoa butter that only keeps me not itching for a small while, so I have been alterating with the Eucerin Calming since it contains oatmeal and I have found to be comforting for longer periods of time. My mama friends have seriosuly failed when it has come to warning me about all these fun symptoms..
I hope this helps some of those who have undergone the same changes as I have or at least some of the items can be implemented into your own regime to relieve the skin changes taking place.
