Christmas Eve, Christmas Jammie Parties Are Where It's At!

Maybe its my age, maybe its just me, but it seems that all my pregnant friends were extremely active while pregnant, while I get exhausted just brushing my hair (I am on day four of dry shampoo, messy bun, no bra and jammies). Hence why the hubs and I's best friends forgoed their usual Ugly Christmas Sweater Party and opted for a Christmas Jammie Party #canigetallthepraisehands. I love Christmas. I love the smells, the decorating, the wrapping, cooking, etc., however being five or so months into pregnancy, it took me a crazy amount of time to accomplish these tasks. Two days to decorate a four foot tree and I wish I was kidding. Yes, the hubs could have helped, but I would have ended up moving around all his ornaments #iamthatpersonandnoiamnotsorry.

I wish I could remember what amazing Instagram farmhouswe decor page I follow that gave me the idea of putting the tree in the silvertub, but I love it and think it looks much cuter than a tree skirt, since its much smaller than the traditional Christmas tree. Oh and FYI, do not pull a me and eyeball it (I eyeball everything, one would think I would have learned my lesson by now) and just order the tub willy nilly online or you will end up buying a brandnew treestand that either you or your husband will have to finesse to get it to fit properly #wishitwerenttrue.

Whenever hubs and I travel, we always pick up an ornament to commerate our travels and the rest of the ornaments came from Target, they nailed it with the lighter ornaments (because our tree is little the heavier weight ornaments look ridiculous) and vintage camper insipred themes this year #givemeallthecamperseventhoughihatecamping.

As a side note, I picked up that camper at Target on Black Friday, hubs had gone to his family and I stayed with my mama, so by 6pm we were edgy to get out of the house, apparently so were the other people of Sunrise. Luckily we found a great space and I picked the camper up and Finding Dory (which I originally went in there for) and that was it...cue sideeye from the Target guy at the register who couldn't believe I braved the masses at Sawgrass for two small items.

We are pretty lucky that our best friends live about two miles from us, so its an easy and safe trip. Although it is a normal evening at their house for me, nothing beats just hanging out in their house in PJ's. Every year we have bought their boys their Christmas Eve jammies so this year's theme made life super easy. As we have alwasy done, it is potluck and their friends had brought Nicuargan inspired dishes which were a hungry preggo ladies eating dream. Ridiculous games were played and the Spanish music was blasting, wine and my water spritzer were apouring and the kids were "sleeping" preparing for Santa. And at midnight after the sleigh and hooves had landed, the boys opened up their gifts. It was pure and utter madness and I wouldn't have had it any other way. I can't wait till Baby E can participate next year.

As noted, I had already planned to wear PJ's so I had gotten these early on and they were perfect and comfy for the belly. The theme was determined a little later on, so we were lucky to be able to find these Stormtrooper PJ pants for my nerdy hubs at Target and the shirt we had purchased last year at Kohl's. The night was filled with amazing food, drinks I couldn't partake in, and the most amazing unwrapping of presents done by children I have ever seen take place at midnight, complete with the peanut butter jelly time song done by a three year old #wheredotheylearnthesethings? Dad, I am looking at you....and now, for your viewing pleasure...
