I know you have been bombarded with the best deals whether it be fashion, home, or electronics, but I am here to share only what we purchased the last two days. I give mad props to those who can compile the incredible lists that they do (and maybe one day I will be able to do this), but work has been insanely busy and with getting ready to go to Disney for the Commodore's birthday, I am working against the clock. Also, I apologize as I realize now that as I write this that some of the items that we got were Lightening Deals and apparently the "deals" are only good for so many hours. There were a couple things I wanted to scoop up that were listed on other bloggers lists and I am realizing that this may have been the case here too.
One tip that I would suggest for either this Prime Day or future ones is to create 'wishlists'. What is nice about doing this is that if there is a price drop or a deal whether it be a lightening deal, Prime Day or Black Friday, the sale price is highlighted. It makes it easy to go down your list and decide whether to take the plunge or not. Discovering this yesterday is probably what caused us to make so many purchases that we did. I am not sure whether to be thankful for this tip or not.
I will say that the things we did get were actually well though out purchases that we needed for the house or for the kids and that we got really good deals on. The craziest thing is that our outside projector broke (or so we thought), so the whole plan was JUST to get THIS projector (its the same one we have, but the updated version). The. Projector. Only. It is an awesome projector that is really clear and easy to use. The day before Prime Day happened, we fixed said projector (well Sean did) and we noted that it was the Amazon Firestick remote that was not working as well as the tripod had broke (I blame all of this on the Moscow Mules that were had), which honestly was perfect timing since the new 4K one was on sale for 50% off at $25 (HERE) as well as THIS tripod.
From there, I just went down a rabbit hole of "hey don't we need..." from there. Our text messages from yesterday are pretty much links and yes, I text my husband even though he is in the other room. It makes perfect sense at the time...trust me.
Recently, we bought a new Nectar mattress ( we are just taking it out of the box today, so no review yet) and with it came with what they said were $350 worth of sheets. Ummmmm...I have so many questions. One, how in the heavens are these $350 sheets?! First of all, they are off white at best and they were unbelievably wrinkled and dingy looking when we took them out of the dryer. Secondly, they are scratchy and do not feel like brand new sheets at all. Both the Hubs and I did a touch-test of our current ones and the ones what were delivered and the difference was undeniable.
current state of affairs in said living room
We had bought THESE sheets off of Amazon after all the rave reviews from EVERY blogger I have ever followed. I know...I know about ads and sponsorships and what have you, but I am here to tell you that these are the BEST sheets we have ever purchased and to pay $37 (normal price) for king sheets (fitted, sheet and 2 pillowcases), it was a steal. They wash beautifully and come out crisp, clean and stark white every time. They come in a multitude of colors, so if white is not your thing, you have choices and you know how mama feels about choices
For reference I use Simple detergent (the free and clear), a tablespoon of baking powder, a cup of vineagar and a 1/4 cup of bleach that is also safe for colors. This mixture gets out EVERYTHING...including blood. #yourewelcome.
One of the wishlists I createdon Amazon is for repurchases (a complete and utter lifesaver I tell you), which is basically items that I have loved from Amazon that are tried and true and that if needed I would be able to find again to rebuy. As I was going through my wishlists yesterday I realized that one of the lightening deals was for the sheets and they were on sale for $28. Welp, no brainer and we now have a spare sheet set. I am sure you all know how expensive sheet sets (especially king) can be so even at the regular $37, it is an amazing deal (UPDATE: there is a current $5 coupon that you can apply).
I follow a blogger HoneyWereHome and what feels like a millenia ago she posted these baking sheets which I totally guffawed at, and then proceeded to order and took back my guffaw immediately. THESE baking sheets are amazing, a total need, and I cannot tell you when I used aluminum foil last (unless I am making eggplant hasselback which apparently is a disaster if you don't use it...what is up with that). Everything is cooked all the way through and I love that you do not have to use spray and can just throw them in the dishwasher. Mine look like I set them on fire (I literally do not cook anything without them), so instead I will post the picture directly from Amazon...
They are currently part of the Prime Deals and you get two for less than $10. I obviously ordered 2 more. My neighbors are legitimately going to kill me as they are the ones that get our packages when we are out of town.
THESE are our most important piece equipment when in Disney. I swear by these clip on fans (we have two...one for each kid). I love that they are lightweight, that they easily clip on anywhere on the stroller so the kids won't mess with them, you can alter the fan power, and the most important thing is that they are USB powered, so we can recharge them throughout the day or in the evening. The fans are a big reason why we carry multiple charging pods on us. They are $16 during Prime Day (normally $30) and we have had ours since we just had EV with no issue, so they are 100% worth it in our eyes
I have loved using my Cricut and am always making cute shirts for Disney...see below at the ones I just created. My favorite vinyl of late is from HTVRONT and they are offering majority of their vinyl for an amazing price on Amazon during Prime Day (anywhere from $6-$13). I love getting good quality vinyl and a lot of it (five feet and more) for a great price. If you have been waiting for a great sale on vinyl, this is it!
I also go through vinyl cutting boards like you wouldn't believe. Am I doing this wrong?! Help a girl out! THIS pack of 6 is from the same above company was less than $14 (A. PACK. OF. SIX). Make sure to read the descriptions as some of the cutting boards are not on sale, not in a pack of six and there is a variety of 'stick' options. I went with the linked option, but you do have choices.
A few things I cannot post, because they are presents for my best friends' baby shower, but if you have looked at any of my Disney essentials posts, you will see a slew of those items are now being offered as a part of Prime Day.
I have no idea what has happened, but EV has become terrified of the dark. You don't get it, she loved the dark, she was the one who loved hiding in it and being creepy and would just walk around the house as it was pitch dark. It was her favorite time of day. Mama was the one not fond of the dark, but now, she hates it. She has even recently been making herself sick over it and last night I had to hold her hand while she fell asleep (although truth be told, I kind of reveled in this and didn't mind one bit). Our plan towards the end of the year was to buy EV her big girl bed and transition her to her room which now makes me kind of nervous with the new found vomiting. I did find THESE amazing plug-in nightlights that are powered by remote control and have a dimmer, different colors, and can adjust to the time of day. I also loved that they came in a pack of two so one can be in Commodore's room. You can get the pack of two for less than $12 and although there are only 223 reviews, they all seem to be really high and for the price I am excited to see how they work.
We have THESE day beds from Ikea (pictured below) and I absolutley love them. Technically we have the one that is currently in Commodore's room, but as mentioned the plan would be to get EV hers at the end of the year so that they match. I love that they have three drawers and that they have come with two mattresses to make the bed larger as the kids get older, however you can just get the frame and the drawers for $299. Because one side of the day bed comes up to 'frame-in', we would only need one rail for one side.
Case in point...
We ended up buying THESE bedrail bumpers as they are normally $40 and come in a set of two. For Prime Day the set of two are on sale for $24, so it is a great deal and the reviews were pretty darn great. Now we have one for each kid for about $12. The kiddos are weirdo sleepers (sideways and such), but not big rollers, so we figure with these they will be safer and I plan to have step stools at the end as well for easy access off the bed.
I told you that this was going to be a lot of random stuff. We didn't really need any of the big ticket items (although a replacement 50" for our bedroom for $300 was hard to pass up). However this next one was kind of a 'it's a great price we were planning on replacing our boob light anyway' item. Iit is the last one left in the house from the original lighting. For anyone that lives in Florida either you know or we can tell you that in dome lighting (or boob lighting) it is a catch all for EVERYTHING (bugs, dust, lizards....plegh). A lizard now currently resides in the kids hallyway light and rather than get it out as it is the only thing I can focus on now, I have decided to replace the entire darn thing. It is the only feasible action at this point (a spider I would burn the house down...a lizard means replacing the light fixture). I found THIS one this morning and it is a great deal for Prime Day at almost $20 off making it $43. I love that it is open and industrial looking. We replaced our boob light in the living room last year with a similar light that also has the industrial feel and the edison bulbs, so I am all about it.
Best part...I am not going to look up and find a creature in it...thanks Florida....
Lastly, we did end up scooping one of Amazon's device Prime Day deals (other than the firestick) and that was THIS Ring doorbell that came with the Echo Show 5 (I heard this is pretty awesome and that you can control your lightswitches and everything with it...although now that I write this out, this is also a smidge creepy). With all the ipdates of the Ring, our current one is becoming obsolete and it is losing chare faster and faster. I am also looking forward to having a clearer view of who is outside of our house and making a better decision about opening the door or not. I understand why some people have very strong feelings in regards to the Alexa (my best friend is anti-anything that is Alexa, but apparently Siri is cool....whatevs IPhone peeps), but we haven't had an issue...yet. Trust me, the minute I hear anyone that is not Alexa talking to my kids over it, it is getting tossed through the nearest window.
Well my friends that covers it. If you want to see a glorious compilation of all the Prime Day goodies, I highly suggest checking out Honey Were Home as she has so much good stuff listed and categorized and a lot of what she has suggested has been game changers for our home and my organization loving heart, so I stand by with what she says ;) .
